Job Summary


The Semi Driver is responsible for operation of commercial motor vehicle to pick up raw material and deliver finished product with attention to prompt and efficient customer service.
 


Essential Duties/Responsibilities

o Run established route; pick up raw material and deliver finished goods; weigh in raw material when returning to plant and weight in and out of customer location when hauling finished product.


o Responsible for ensuring all finished loads are tarped before leaving plant or customer locations; maintain cleanliness at customer locations.


o Responsible for company vehicle; keeps vehicle in clean condition.


o Conducts all safety checks and inspections of vehicle; operates vehicle under state, federal, local regulations and in accordance with company policy and procedures; observes all company safety rules.


o Attendance at all safety meetings required; may be asked to serve on Safety Committee.


o Maintain excellent customer relations by presenting professional appearance and attitude.


o Responsible for completing all company required paperwork in accordance with company policies (route tickets, driver vehicle inspection reports, accident reports, mileage reports, service forms, etc.)


o Maintain and update vehicle condition report on a daily basis.


o Maintain DOT log book if required.


o All other duties as assigned.
 


Qualifications


o Works well with others in a team environment.


o Dependable; reliable; ability to work nights and/or weekends as needed.


o Must be 21 years of age with clean MVR.


o Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.


o Good math and communication skills.


o Knowledge of safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle and general maintenance.
 


Education/Experience


o Minimum of 2 years experience operating tractor trailers preferred.


o Current CDL holder with proper endorsements.


o Prior route experience within a customer oriented environment preferred.
 


Physical Demands


o Constantly required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, and crouch.


o Frequently required to sit for extended periods.


o Occasionally push, pull, up to 100 lbs.


o Occasionally lift up to 80 lbs.


o Frequently lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs.


o Regularly required to reach with hands and arms.


o May need to work nights and weekends.
 


Work Environment


Job functions will be carried out in a commercial motor vehicle, customer locations, and plant environment.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
